4-5 hours you will see the highlights of Athens. Start off with a visit
to St. George Lycabettus, the highest point in Athens. See all of the city
and surrounding areas with its fantastic view. It is a great opportunity
to take your pictures there and have your memories captured with the
whole city in the background.
On this hill you will find the small whitewashed chapel of St. George,
erected in the 19th century, which was the site of the Byzantine church of Prophet
Elijah. |

Our
next stop will be the President's palace where you will see the changing of
the characteristic guards of the presidential garrison. The guards are walking
from the President's palace to Syntagma square where the Monument of
the Unknown Soldier is placed. This is a monument that honors all the soldiers
that died during the wars that Greece participated in. |

After
the Presidential palace, take a look at the place where the famous Greek
philosopher Socrates was held prisoner. Then walk up to the Parthenon,
one of the seven wonders of the world, which is placed at the top of the
holy rock of the Acropolis with its museum where you will see the great findings
of the ancient Greek civilization. |

During
the tour you are also going to see a variety of sights like the first academy
and university in Athens, the Temple of Zeus, the famous Panathinaikon Stadium
where the first modern Olympics were held in 1896, and of course you will
have the opportunity and the time to see the famous Plaka to shop for souvenirs
