Cape Sounion Tour

This half-day trip begins with a 65-kilometer curvy, coastal drive to the Temple of Poseidon, the God of the sea. Our first stop on the way to Cape Sounion is in P. Faliro where the heroic battleship “Averof” is docked. This battleship participated in World War II and has been modified to be a naval museum with unique and precious exhibits. The condition of the ship is perfect and when you go on board you can see the place where heroes fought.

Vouliagmeni Lake.

Next, I will show you a panoramic view of the Saronic Gulf from Laimos and then we will visit the lake of Vouliagmeni with it’s healing waters. Surrounding the lake are numerous caves and underwater corridors that nobody has managed to fully explore. A few who tried to find out where the caves lead where lost inside them. Don't try it....

The view of Cape Sounion and Poseidon's temple from a distance.

Before reaching Cape Sounion, you may want to have a swim in the aquamarine waters of the Aegean Sea with a view of the temple. Enjoy lunch on the beach at a seafood taverna, feasting on fresh grilled fish or have a traditional Greek meal. See the magnificent ancient monument dedicated to the God of the Sea, Poseidon, before returning to Athens.  This tour can also be done in the afternoon allowing yourself to witness an absolutely breathtaking sunset from the Temple.
